There is an app called Endless Paper that allows people to create infinite zoom art. To get a sense of how crazy these artists are:

A D&D inspired infinite zoom art masterpiece

When images are drawn with vectors they can be scaled up or down endlessly, as their shapes are scalable equations, not pixels.

I realized this is the perfect medium to showcase the scale of epic adventure that is “Under a Hostile Sun.” I only had access to my own pixel art, so some pixelation can be seen on mine, but it was still a blast to make.

Infinite Zoom on Strange Planets

On the volcanic planet known as Demeter VI robotic arms mine for Molten Minerals and Crater Wolves watch their cubs, while their cubs look to the sky . . . An Infinite Zoom journey through the world of “Under a Hostile Sun,” a rules-lite tabletop RPG about surviving on strange and mysterious planets.

  1. Rules for environment-based encounters where space explorers must weigh risk vs reward with an uncertain amount of remaining Opportunity.
  2. Alien creature taming system that will allow players to build a collection of furry (and creepy) friends.
  3. Resource Currencies to track the party’s stores of scarce planetary resources.
  4. Efficient Rules system – character sheets can fit on an Index Card
  5. Elite and Divine Currencies that can be unlocked in longer campaigns.
  6. Alchemy system that allows for broad creativity, whilst forcing players to manage stores of limited materials.
  7. Rules are licensed under the Open RPG Creative (ORC) License

Cryptid Collector

I am working on another variant of “Under a Hostile Sun” that is focused on collecting Cryptids and Kaiju. For people who love creature collecting games, I hope it will provide monster taming fun.

It’s in very early development, let me know what you think.
