Lead Article – Godzilla vs Kong Review
GvK—New Empire: It’s a fun enough ride, great to see a full monster world in Hollow Earth & to have entire sequences where the monsters are main characters, like the father-son relationship of Kong / MiniKong.
It doesn’t have the depth or artistry of “Godzilla-1”, nor does it try to. Nothing wrong w/ liking Serious Zilla & Goofy Zilla both, just know this is 100% Goofy Zilla
It does suffer from Marvel Univ. Syndrome. In Zilla 2014 & Skull Island that monsters walked the Earth seemed a big and important thing, but in this movie I never felt much concern. In both universes, it’s probably one-half saturation, one-half screenwriting.
Geek Pts: Mothra, modern take on Shobijin, MiniK, cute Zilla napping in landmarks
Good Content: The importance of family, for both Monsters and Humans.
Problematic: The “Noble Pagan Tribe” deliberately contrasted w/ the “evils” of modern discovery.

There are strange beasts out there trainer! But don’t worry you will not have to drown in stats!
- Tamers just have six stats, three of which determine the attack hit-rate of their tamed Cryptids and 5 of which gather resources used to tame cryptids.
- Cryptids determine damage dice and the likelihood of a double attack! Furthermore, outside of battle, Cryptids can spend a point of energy to assist their Tamer with actions.
- When taming Cryptids, like in our favorite videogames you have to lower their HP, but not too far!
- Simple rules, cute pixel art, epic battles and endless collectable fun!
- 20 page book planned along with a OPRPG – will feature Gym Badges, Kaiju-sized boss beasts, aliens, leveling up rules, evolved forms and more!
